Philadelphia Eagles Youth Football Coach of the Week

When it comes to coaching, Michael Ricci has been on the block for many years. Coach Ricci was hired as Garnet Valley's head football coach in 1986. From the time he was a kid, he knew coaching was his calling and after 38 years of being on the sidelines, Coach Ricci is putting down his headset.

Al Crosby grew up in Philadelphia and football has always been a big part of his life. One of his coaches was Leroy Keyes, a former Philadelphia Eagle. Keyes is the reason why Crosby became a football coach.

In his first full season as head coach for Northeast High School, Eric Clark has found different ways to keep his team uplifted through a difficult year.

"Coaching actually found me. I didn't find coaching. I was around the game when there was a coaching position that was open, and my wife sent me the email. She told me to check it out. I actually interviewed for the job in a janitor's closet. And here I am today,"

With 26 years of coaching under his belt, this head coach knows his job goes far beyond the field. Archbishop Wood High School Head Coach Matt Walp says it is important for all coaches to recognize that they are more than a coach for these players.

It is more than just for the love of football; it is about making a difference in young people's lives for Pat Montgomery. As the head coach for Boys Latin Charter School, Montgomery loves being able to spend time on the sidelines and in the weight room, but it is the kids who really make his job worthwhile.

In every aspect of football, this coach makes it a point to let his players have fun. Abraham Lincoln High School Head Coach Hakeem Cooper focuses on finding ways for his players to enjoy their time while they are out on the field.

Even after 18 years of being on the sideline, he still gets butterflies when those Friday Night Lights switch on and the whistle blows. When he puts his headset on, he is in the zone. No stranger to Perkiomen Valley High School, Head Coach Rob Heist has spent years doing what he loves at his alma mater.
