Biography
Community Involvement:
Cancer has affected the lives of so many people I love. As a student at Penn State, I was involved with THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy benefiting children and families battling childhood cancer. The year-long fundraising efforts culminate in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon, in which over 600 students participate each year, and over 16,000 volunteer to make it all happen. I was a student volunteer for four years, finishing my senior year as a Supply Logistics Captain, where I spearheaded the Hershey Holiday Toy Drive initiative alongside my direct co-captain. Through this initiative, we acquired over 600 toys for children in treatment at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. I also was one of four members of the Lionette's Dance Team selected to stand all 46 hours for THON 2023, which I successfully completed alongside my teammates. My hope is one day that we will dance in celebration of a cure, but until then, the fight continues. For the families, and for the Kids!
Just Had to Share:
My mom is a yoga teacher and owns a studio herself, so I've been lucky to be practicing for most of my life. I recently completed my 200-hour RYT certification and I'm so excited to begin teaching more. Working, practicing, and teaching at the studio has allowed me to meet some amazing people and give back to our hometown community in so many ways.
