Saturday Injury Update

The Eagles announced on Saturday afternoon that offensive lineman Brett Toth (concussion) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's Wild Card matchup against the 49ers.

Friday's Injury Report

Tackle Lane Johnson practiced all week in a limited capacity and is officially questionable for Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the San Francisco 49ers (4:30 PM, FOX/SportsRadio 94WIP).

Johnson suffered a foot injury in the November 16 win over the Detroit Lions. He did not practice leading up to any of the remaining seven regular-season games.

"Obviously, Lane's a phenomenal football player, so anytime he's on the field, you are pumped about that," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Friday. "He's continuing to grind through and he's a warrior. He does everything he can possibly do to be out there with us. It's always good to have him back on the field."

Linebacker Nakobe Dean, who missed the final two regular-season games with a hamstring injury, practiced fully on Friday and is good to go for Sunday.

"It's NFL playoff football. Time to turn it up a notch," Dean said earlier this week. "Everything kind of like cranks up – the speed gets a little bit faster, the players are locked in and teams don't beat themselves in the playoffs. We have to beat them. That's what we're looking at."

Johnson is not the only questionable Eagle. Offensive lineman Brett Toth practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. He is in the concussion protocol and would need to be cleared by an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday.

The Eagles opened outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari's practice window this week. He has been on Injured Reserve since November 1 with a hamstring injury. Ojulari was a full participant in practice this week, but he's listed as questionable as he would need to be activated in order to play.

Everyone else is good to go for the Eagles.

Guard Landon Dickerson rested on Thursday. He was a full participant in Friday's practice.

Defensive tackle Jalen Carter (hip), safety Marcus Epps (concussion), tight end Dallas Goedert (knee), and outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips (ankle) are among the players who were rested in Week 18 due to injury. They are all good to go as well.

Buckle Up, Philly 😤

Ahead of Sunday's Wild Card matchup against the 49ers, Brandon Graham penned a letter to Eagles fans. "What gets you remembered in this city are championships, and we have a shot at another one this year."

Trent Williams, Ricky Pearsall offically questionable for Sunday

Tackle Trent Williams is one of seven 49ers categorized as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Eagles.

The Pro Bowl blindside protector returned to practice on Thursday and was on the field for two days in a limited capacity. He missed the Week 18 game against Seattle with a hamstring injury.

Another player who is questionable is the 49ers' top wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who missed the Week 18 Seattle game with knee and ankle injuries. Unlike Williams, however, Pearsall did not practice all week.

The 2024 first-round pick only played in nine games this season, but led the 49ers in targets (13), receptions (7), and receiving yards (228) on pass attempts of 20+ air yards, according to Next Gen Stats, highlighting his importance to the offensive attack.

The linebacker depth has been a storyline for the 49ers all week after losing Tatum Bethune for the year on Sunday against Seattle with a groin injury. San Francisco is already without Fred Warner and Nick Martin, who are on Injured Reserve and not ready to come back.

Linebacker Dee Winters did not practice all week with an ankle injury suffered against the Seahawks and is questionable. Linebacker Luke Gifford (quadricep) was downgraded during the week from a limited participant to a non-participant and is questionable for Sunday.

Another injury to watch: starting cornerback Renardo Green was added to the injury report on Friday as a limited participant with an ankle injury. Green is questionable.

Thursday's Injury Report

The Eagles are trending in a positive direction from an injury standpoint heading into Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

Tackle Lane Johnson practiced in a limited capacity for a second consecutive day, returning to the field for the first time since injuring his foot in the November 16 win over the Detroit Lions.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean increased his practice participation to full on Thursday. He injured his hamstring in the NFC East-clinching victory over Washington on December 20 and missed the final two regular-season games.

Tight end Grant Calcaterra suffered an ankle injury in the regular-season finale against the Commanders on Sunday. He did not practice on Wednesday, but returned in limited fashion on Thursday.

Safety Marcus Epps, who has solidified the back end of the defense after rookie Andrew Mukuba's ankle injury, missed the regular-season finale with a concussion. He was a full participant in Thursday's practice and would just need to be cleared by an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday's game to play.

Guard Landon Dickerson rested on Thursday, a common occurrence late in the season. Fellow offensive lineman Brett Toth remains sidelined with a concussion he incurred Sunday against the Commanders.

The Eagles have their last practice of the week on Friday afternoon and the game status report will be released later in the day.

Trent Williams returns to practice, Ricky Pearsall does not

The Eagles hope to get their All-Pro tackle back. So do the 49ers.

Left tackle Trent Williams returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday. He missed the Week 18 de facto NFC West Championship against the Seahawks due to a hamstring injury and did not participate in Wednesday's practice. San Francisco is 4-13 without Williams in the lineup.

Top wide receiver Ricky Pearsall also missed the Seahawks game with knee and ankle injury. He has yet to return to the practice field this week. The 2024 first-round pick only played in nine games this season, but led the 49ers in targets (13), receptions (7), and receiving yards (228) on pass attempts of 20+ air yards, according to Next Gen Stats, highlighting his importance to the offensive attack.

Pearsall would help take some of the offensive pressure off of running back Christian McCaffrey, who returned to practice after a rest day on Wednesday.

Defensively, the linebacker depth is a major question mark for the 49ers as Dee Winters missed practice again due to the ankle injury he suffered against Seattle. Luke Gifford, who also didn't finish the Seattle game due to injury, was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday. Starting defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (knee) remained limited with an injury he suffered in practice on Wednesday.

Wednesday's Injury Report

There was a welcome sight on the practice field at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday.

For the first time since suffering a foot injury in the November 16 win over the Detroit Lions, tackle Lane Johnson participated in practice.

"Lane is just a difference-maker and it can affect everything," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Wednesday. "There's a reason he's going to be in the Eagles Hall of Fame, the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's one of the best ever to do at that position, and he shows that year in, out. I've been with him for five years and it feels like he just keeps getting better and better, which is a testament to Lane and how he takes care of his body and how he trains and how he mentally approaches this game of football that he loves. Man, I could go on all day about him."

Johnson was one of five Eagles who was limited on Wednesday.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of the NFC East-clinching win against Washington on December 20, missed the final two games of the regular season. He, too, returned to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday. Dean opened the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list while recovering from a knee injury that he incurred in the Wild Card win over the Packers last season. He made his season debut in Week 6 against the Giants and returned to the starting lineup two weeks later. In 10 games, Dean posted 55 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and a pass defensed.

"No doubt about it, I'm playing," Dean said on Wednesday after practice.

The only Eagles who did not practice were tight end Grant Calcaterra (ankle) and offensive lineman Brett Toth (concussion). Both players were injured last Sunday in the regular-season finale against Washington.

The Eagles opened outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari's practice window on Wednesday. Ojulari was placed on Injured Reserve on November 1 with a hamstring injury.

Trent Williams missed Wednesday's practice for the 49ers

Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams remains sidelined with a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Week 18 clash with the Seattle Seahawks that determined the NFC West winner.

Williams was one of five 49ers players who did not practice on Wednesday.

Former first-round pick wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was limited last week with knee and ankle injuries and also missed the Seattle game. Pearsall did not practice on Wednesday.

The linebacker position is very much in flux for the 49ers. Already without Fred Warner and Nick Martin, who are on Injured Reserve and not ready to come back, the 49ers lost Tatum Bethune for the year on Sunday with a groin injury. Bethune joined his other linebacker teammates on Injured Reserve.

Eric Kendricks is set to start at middle linebacker. The veteran joined the team in late November and played in the last three games of the season, starting one.

Dee Winters, who would start alongside Kendricks, missed practice with an ankle injury suffered in the Seattle game. San Francisco signed former Eagle Kyzir White to the practice squad to add depth at the linebacker position. White played one game for the Titans this season.

Running back Christian McCaffrey rested on Wednesday and did not practice.

Tight end George Kittle was limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury.

Quarterback Brock Purdy did not appear on the injury report despite suffering a stinger late in the fourth quarter of the Seattle loss.
