Wednesday's Injury Report
Nakobe Dean had October 1 circled on his calendar since late August. When he found out that he was starting the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Dean knew that October 1 would be the first day that he would be eligible to practice.
Dean said that he got to bed early on Tuesday night to be ready. On Wednesday, Dean practiced with the Eagles for the first time since suffering a torn patellar tendon in his knee during the Wild Card Round win over the Packers.
"I knew I was going to be back. I knew how my body felt. I've been cleared for a good bit now, so I didn't feel like I was apart from the team," said Dean when asked on Wednesday about attending every practice this season. "I feel like I'm still on the team and I didn't want to miss a beat. I literally did everything with the team other than practice and play. That was it."
The fourth-year linebacker calls himself an "optimistic realist." He focused on what he could control during the rehab process. He used the time on the sideline to gain a deeper understanding of Vic Fangio's defense from a mental standpoint.
"Knowing the defense more, being in the second year of the same defense, you get a little bit more detailed, a little bit more intricate in the scheme of things," Dean said.
Fangio raved on Tuesday about getting Dean back on the practice field.
"He played great last year. Besides being the signal-caller guy and being a leader, you can't be a leader if you don't play good and he played great for us last year," Fangio said. "As far as where he is at now, either this week or next week, he'll start his practice window and then we'll see where he is at."
Dean was officially limited on Wednesday.
Every Eagle on the active roster participated in practice except for tight end Dallas Goedert, who was sidelined with a knee injury. Goedert missed the Week 2 game in Kansas City due to a knee injury, but it is unknown whether it's related. Goedert had four catches for 37 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers.
Tackle Lane Johnson, who exited the Tampa Bay win with a shoulder injury, was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Cornerback Adoree' Jackson missed the Buccaneers game with a groin injury. He, too, was limited on Wednesday.

Outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (thumb) and wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (hip/ankles) were both limited participants. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto (wrist) and former Eagles inside linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb) both practiced fully.
