Andrews In Right Frame Of Mind Entering Camp

Shawn Andrews took a glance at the crowd of reporters who surrounded his car as he reported to training camp on Wednesday afternoon. He got out of the car, walked around, looked at the crowd and joked about how everyone thought he wasn't going to show up.

Remember, a year ago he missed the Lehigh University portion of training camp as he focused on his battle with depression. But he arrived for camp on time looking forward to putting on the pads and getting to work. Remember, he missed almost all of last season - including the playoffs - with a back injury.

On how he feels: "I feel great. How do I look? ... If nothing else, one more shot at this thing. I'm going to leave no regrets. No matter what happens this year."

On why the remark about one more year: "I'm just saying this is just one more opportunity to come back and be a part of this organization because I don't know how Coach (Andy) Reid feels about it, but I did shoot him a text, and I was just thinking about it and I said I was very grateful for the support that he showed and the opportunity because had it been another organization I could have been gone. I've just been counting my blessings and to just get one more opportunity to get things done."

On the excitement regarding the change from guard to tackle and the upcoming full-contact practices: "I'm very excited about it. You won't hear too many guys say, 'Hey, I'm looking forward to training camp,' but I've actually been looking forward to it. The thrill is still there and I'm excited to play this new position professionally. But I'm no stranger to it (he played it in college) and I'm really looking forward to putting the pads on."
