The Eagles have signed three players ahead of Monday's Training Camp practice: defensive tackle David Blay, running back Ja'Quinden Jackson, and outside linebacker Tarron Jackson. In corresponding moves, the Eagles waived G Jaeden Roberts and TE Dae'Quan Wright. RB Elijah Mitchell was placed on Injured Reserve.
Blay was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Patriots this offseason before being waived on August 7th. The defensive tackle started his collegiate career in NCAA Division II with West Chester before transferring to Louisianna Tech for two years. He transferred to the University of Miami for his senior season in 2025, recording 28 tackles and helping the team reach the College Football National Championship.
Ja'Quinden Jackson went undrafted in 2025, playing on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad before being waived this offseason. His collegiate career began at Texas in 2020 before transferring to Utah and then Arkansas for his final year in 2024. The 6-foot-2 runningback rushed for 790 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Razorbacks.
Tarron Jackson was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles back in 2021. After playing in Philadelphia for three seasons, he signed with the Panthers in 2024 before resigning to Eagles' practice squad. The outside linebacker was then added to the 49ers' practice squad to finish the 2024 season and spent 2025 on the 49ers' Injured Reserve. The former Coastal Carolina Chanticleer has recorded 18 tackles, one sack, and forced fumble through his NFL Career.
Mitchell was drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round in 2021 out of Louisiana, where he was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection in 2020. The veteran running back spent four seasons with the 49ers, rushing for 1,523 yards on 327 carries (4.7 yards per carry) and scoring nine touchdowns.
Roberts was signed as an undrafted free agent this offseason by the Eagles out of the University of Alabama. The Texas native played four seasons at Alabama (2022-25), seeing action in 37 games (25 starts) at RG. He helped Alabama make two Rose Bowl appearances and capture the 2023 SEC Championship.
Wright joined the Eagles this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi. Starting his collegiate career with Virginia Tech before transferring, the tight end appeared in 47 games, registering 1,603 yards and 9 TDs on 113 catches in college for the Hokies and Rebels. - Written by Caroline Connor
