The Eagles announced on Saturday that they have elevated running back Elijah Mitchell and outside linebacker Mason Reiger from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders. The team also downgraded cornerback Jakorian Bennett, who is on Injured Reserve, to out.

RB Elijah Mitchell

Mitchell made his Eagles debut on Monday night against Dallas as he carried the ball three times for 11 yards in 14 offensive snaps.

A former sixth-round pick of the 49ers out of Louisiana in 2021, Mitchell joined the Eagles in June and was placed on Injured Reserve by the team in August. After being waived off Injured Reserve, Mitchell returned to the team as a member of the practice squad on October 20.

Mitchell was thrust into action due to the injuries at the running back position. The Eagles have three running backs on Injured Reserve.

With Mitchell elevated for a second week in a row, the Eagles will also have Saquon Barkley and Jaydon Blue at running back. Barkley has no injury status for Sunday night, despite being limited in practice this week due to hamstring and back injuries. Blue was active for the Carolina game, but did not play.

OLB Mason Reiger

A rookie out of Wisconsin, the 6-foot-4, 258-pound outside linebacker originally signed following the 2026 NFL Draft with the Miami Dolphins, but was waived in August. He joined the Eagles' practice squad on August 31, but this is his first practice squad elevation so Sunday night will mark his Eagles and NFL debut.

In 44 games between Louisville (2020-23) and Wisconsin (2025), Reiger notched 82 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, four passes defensed, and four forced fumbles.
