'We understand there's more work to be done'
Inside the visitors locker room at Northwest Stadium, Eagles players wore hats and T-shirts celebrating Saturday's NFC East title.
The shirts said, "Been There, Won That," a nod to Philadelphia being the first team to win back-to-back NFC East crowns in 21 seasons. It was a joyful scene as the Eagles punched their ticket to the playoffs and guaranteed a home postseason game.
"Now we've done this, and we got to make sure it's just a step in the journey," defensive end Brandon Graham said. "We got so much more ahead of us that we got to go accomplish."
While players took some time to enjoy winning the division, it wasn't an all-out celebration in the locker room. This is the first step in Philadelphia's journey, but everyone knows this isn't the final goal.
"You got to be present in the moment, enjoy it," running back Saquon Barkley said. "Back-to-back NFC East Champions ... it's a big deal. But it's kind of like, you enjoy it now, take the day off, and then right back to work. That's the mindset that we're going to have, and we got to have."
"I think everybody understands what's in front of us," defensive back Cooper DeJean added. "This is definitely something we can enjoy for the moment right now and definitely build off of. We understand there's more work to be done."
Nick Sirianni: 'Our goals are much higher'
Nick Sirianni is in a class of his own.
On Saturday night, Sirianni became the first head coach in the Super Bowl Era to take his team to the playoffs in each of his first five seasons, and along the way, win at least three division titles and a Super Bowl.
The victory over the Washington Commanders was the 64th of Sirianni's career, including playoffs, tying him with Pro Football Hall of Famer Greasy Neale for the second most in franchise history.
The Eagles were the first team to clinch a division title this season, becoming the first NFC East team to repeat as division champions since the Eagles from 2001-04. Sirianni appreciates the history of the division and understands the challenge of staying on top of the mountain.
"To be able to be a back-to-back winner and get ourselves into the playoffs and, obviously, our goals are much higher," Sirianni said. "I think that we've raised the expectations of what we expect and so we're pumped to get in, but we got more work to do. We'll go back to work, we'll celebrate this tonight. Players will be off tomorrow. Coaches will be in and we'll get back to work and try to improve from there."
Less than a week after shutting out the Raiders, the defense allowed just 220 yards and 15 first downs to Washington. If not for a late touchdown, the Eagles would have had consecutive games of not allowing a point in the second half. Meanwhile, on offense, Jalen Hurts threw two touchdown passes and amassed a 111.1 passer rating, while the Eagles rushed for 207 yards, paced by Saquon Barkley's 132.
As the playoffs begin to come into focus, the Eagles are hitting their stride.
"Hard work throughout the year. Accountability, relentless attention to detail. All our guys. Starts with me, and all those things continue as you work throughout the year," Sirianni said. "You're either coming together as a team or you're not coming together as a team. I think that's what — I think we're playing our best football right now, and we got to continue on with that."
Saquon Barkley runs wild against Commanders
Saquon Barkley continues to torch the Commanders as he ran for 132 yards, his second most this season, a touchdown, and a two-point conversion. In three games against Washington last season, Barkley averaged 138 rushing yards and had seven total touchdowns.
Barkley broke free in the fourth quarter, spinning out of a tackle in the backfield and then running 48 yards to set up another touchdown for the Eagles.
His touchdown came on a 12-yard run when he was surrounded by Commanders players, but somehow got loose and bullied his way into the end zone. After the game, left tackle Jordan Mailata called it an "angry run" from Barkley, who said he got amped up on the sideline before that drive.
"We got a little fired up on the sideline, but it was good," Barkley said. "It was all out of love, let's say that. We want to do what's best for the team, we want to win the games, and hold each other accountable. But thank God it happened for me, to be honest, because it put me 'in my bag,' as people would say."

Jalen Hurts: 'These times, they're rare times'
Jalen Hurts has been the starting quarterback for five years and the Eagles have made the playoffs each time, tying the franchise record for the longest such streak.
He recognizes that "these times, they're rare times."
"So something that we all need to soak in and we relish in this moment right now, and take it a day at a time as we always have," he added. "But keep the main thing the main thing. That's what we've done. For five years since everybody's collectively been here, it's been my approach since I've been an Eagle. I think as a team, just the caliber of guys that we've been able to get with the mentality that where they come from and their backgrounds. And defensively, the vibe that they have and the continuity that they have and everything kind of coming together. We just want to continue to improve."
Hurts was outstanding again on Saturday evening, completing 22 of 30 pass attempts for 184 yards and two touchdowns for a 111.1 passer rating. He added 40 yards on the ground and didn't give the ball away. In the last two wins, Hurts is 34-of-45 for 360 yards with five touchdown passes and no turnovers for a 135.4 passer rating. He tabbed 79 more yards on the ground. The Eagles have scored 60 points in the wins, the most points in consecutive games since before the October bye week.
"I think right now, we're finding ways to win. I think we'll find ways to win, but it takes a component of complementary football, that's all, and that's always the name of the game, and being able to be efficient. Finish runs, stay ahead of the sticks, be intentional about what we're doing, set up things, sequence it in the way it's supposed to be sequenced, and ultimately be able to adjust," Hurts said.
"Every game is different. You know, every game is different. We saw us under center last week. I was doing more, you know, lots of play action and, even surprised. So, I think we can go down every game this year and see a difference in approach, and I think that's okay for us to be, for that to be who we are. You just have to be very smart in what we do and when we do it, and sequence it in the right way, then ultimately go out there and execute and make the plays."
Dallas Goedert is nearing Eagles history
Dallas Goedert is having a monster season for the Eagles, and he added it on Saturday by catching his 10th touchdown of the year on a 3rd-and-goal play from the 15-yard-line that gave the Eagles a third quarter lead. The score tied Pete Retzlaff's record for most touchdowns in a season by a TE in Eagles history (10).
"Staying healthy has been fun [and] playing with the guys," he said. "But anytime I'm out there, I'm just trying to help the team win. It's awesome when your number gets called, you want to make the most of it."
Goedert has been the go-to target for Jalen Hurts in the red zone, and after the game Head Coach Nick Sirianni detailed what makes him such a great player in that area.
"Being strong," Sirianni said. "I mean, you've seen him score in many different ways. You've seen him go up and get the ball like he did tonight. You've seen him run it in, you've seen it. Even though that shovel pass that we ran it to him last week was a pass, that's a run to us. So he's just a big, strong guy that can do it a lot of different ways and, man, I'm glad we have him on our team."
