Usually, Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley are the ones giving out their autographs to fans at Training Camp. It's not every day that they ask for a fan's autograph – but that's what happened after Thursday's practice.
Sam Okyere, a 12-year-old Eagles fan with sickle cell disease, made headlines this week for his Make-A-Wish request. Instead of going to Disney World, LEGOLAND, or hanging out with a celebrity, Sam used his wish to host a carnival for a homeless shelter in West Philly.
Dubbed "Sam's Perfect Day," the carnival benefited Families Forward Philadelphia, a shelter that focuses on keeping families together as Sam wanted to help homeless children.
One of the items on Sam's wish list that he passed on for the carnival was to meet Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
"We were really surprised when we had an invitation from (the Eagles) for Training Camp to come and grant his wish," said Sam's father, Akwasi Okyere. "It was awesome because it was one of his wishes that he chose not to do, and actually gave it up just for the homeless."
The whole Okyere family was invited to meet the two players after practice. Sam first met Barkley and had one pressing question.
"Do I like LEGO?" Barkley said while talking to Sam.
The Eagles' running back affirmed that he had just watched The LEGO Movie with his daughter and offered to build something out of LEGO for Sam, but, according to Barkley, "it probably won't be that good."
Sam signed a "Sam's Perfect Day" sticker from the carnival and gave it to Barkley.
"I won't sell this," Barkley promised.
Eagles Training Camp hosted a few special guests for Thursday's practice ahead of the weekend's preseason matchup against the ravens.

It's no surprise Sam asked about LEGO – going to LEGOLAND was originally his top wish before changing it to the carnival. He and Jalen Hurts talked about a fighter jet LEGO set.
"He's always been an Eagles fan. You can imagine how many times he's thrown the ball, hitting stuff in the house," Akwasi said of Sam. "I always put a smile on my face knowing maybe he's going to be my next quarterback."
Sam's already got a head start, with Hurts asking to keep a news article about Sam after practice. Apart from LEGO, the two talked about video games like Super Smash Bros and 2K.
Aside from saying Sam has a "million-dollar smile," Hurts praised Sam's selflessness, saying that "it's a great quality to have."
According to Akwasi, Sam's choice is already having an impact on others.
"There was another kid that was nominated for the Make-A-Wish, but the kid said, 'Could you give it to someone who's really sick?'" Akwasi said. "And (the doctor) said, 'Look at Sammy. Sammy actually decided to go and feed the homeless.'"
"And (the kid) said, 'Oh really? So can I really do something like that?' So what he did has turned out to be an inspiration for other kids who've had a chance or who are getting the chance to actually grant their wish, but decided to do something very helpful to other people who can be in that position."
Along with an Eagles football signed by Hurts and Barkley, Sam was also gifted a signed Hurts jersey by the Eagles' QB1.
