Eagles elevate Marvin Wilson for tonight's game vs. Texans

Roster Move 2022 Season 1920

The Eagles announced on Thursday just prior to kickoff that the team elevated defensive tackle Marvin Wilson from the practice squad for Thursday night's game. Wilson will revert back to the practice squad after the Week 9 clash with the Texans.

"If he's called upon, we're very confident in him. That's why he's here, right? The guys that are on the practice squad, we feel great that we are going to be able to bring them up and that they will come in and make plays in a game, otherwise we wouldn't have them here in that scenario," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday.

"With Marvin, I think Marvin, what we saw with him is that he came back in great shape. He came back with his body ready to play. He had a great Training Camp that we're like, hopefully – and we're deep at that room, right? We're like we can't keep them all. Hopefully we don't lose Marvin."

Originally signed by the Browns as a rookie free agent out of Florida State in 2021, Wilson spent all of last season on the practice squad and was elevated for his NFL debut, the Week 18 battle against the Dallas Cowboys. This is the first time that he's been elevated this year. This comes following Jordan Davis' ankle injury that resulted him in being placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday.
