Each week of the season, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) selects a player who shows outstanding dedication to off-field service through its Community MVP Program. Eagles defensive back Michael Carter II has earned the honor for Week 8 after holding his foundation's third "Baby Shower on the Block" event of the year last week on October 20th, hosting more than 100 community members, new mothers, expectant mothers, and their families.

The Michael Carter II Foundation hosts Baby Shower on the Block as part of its Maternal Health Program, addressing barriers mothers and families experience in healthcare.

The goal of Baby Shower on the Block? To make sure mothers don't enter motherhood feeling unprepared or invisible, according to Carter’s website. The events hold educational panels on health, fatherhood, motherhood, and more, while distributing supplies like car seats and diapers.

The defensive back launched the foundation with his parents, Donna and Michael Carter Sr., in 2025. The three Baby Shower on the Block events have distributed more than 15,000 supplies to families in need this year alone. At an event in July, Carter and his wife, Alli, who is a labor and delivery nurse, donated 3,000 diapers to mothers in need back in Carter's home state of Georgia.

The foundation supports youth development and safety, partnering with high schools and first responders in local communities. Youth Football Camps will be a new addition to the foundation in 2027.

Carter is the first Eagle honored as a Community MVP by the NFLPA since former Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean in Week 9 of 2025. The NFLPA has donated $10,000 to the Michael Carter II Foundation in honor of the recognition.

Because Carter was chosen as the Week 8 NFLPA Community MVP, he is now eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, an annual honor given by the NFLPA in recognition for a player's commitment to community service. The NFLPA donates a $100,000 investment to the winning player's charity. In 2022, Eagles safety Rodney McLeod was the recipient of the Alan Page Community Award.

Carter joins Laremy Tunsil, Travon Walker, Shedeur Sanders, Mack Hollins, Justin Jefferson, Hunter Henry, and LaQuon Treadwell as the NFLPA's Community MVPS of 2026 so far.

A fifth-round pick by the Jets in 2021, the former Duke Blue Devil joined the Eagles via a trade with New York in 2025.
