The Eagles elevated safety Marcus Epps and tight end Cameron Latu for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. They also placed rookie tackle Cameron Williams (shoulder) on Injured Reserve.
Epps, who the Eagles added to their practice squad after he was released by the Patriots on roster cutdown day, was elevated last week and played 13 special teams snaps (59%) against the Cowboys. He has played in 83 career NFL games, including making 25 starts for the Eagles from 2020 to 2022.
This is Latu's first elevation of the season and Week 2 would be his NFL debut. Latu was a third-round pick by the 49ers in 2023. With fullback Ben VanSumeren on Injured Reserve, Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo mentioned Latu as someone who could help fill VanSumeren's role.
The Eagles will be without top tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) for the Chiefs game, and the addition of Latu could provide depth at the position. The other healthy tight ends on the 53-man roster are Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson, who took snaps in the backfield last week after VanSumeren left the game.
Philadelphia drafted Williams in sixth round out of Texas, where he was the starting right tackle. Williams was inactive for Week 1 against the Cowboys. — Written by Matt Ryan
