Chargers vs. Eagles injury report

Safety Anthony Harris
Safety Anthony Harris

Safety Anthony Harris will return to the lineup after missing the past two games due to hands and groin injuries. In fact, the only player who will be out due to injury this Sunday against the Chargers is wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, who did not practice all week due to an ankle injury suffered in the win over Detroit.

Every other player was a full participant in Friday's practice.

The Eagles have an open roster spot that could be filled by tight end Tyree Jackson, who is currently on the Injured Reserve list with a back injury incurred in Training Camp. The Eagles opened his 21-day practice window on October 20 and must decide whether to activate him or keep him on IR for the remainder of the season.

"We have another day to figure that out," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said when asked on Friday whether or not Jackson will be activated. "We're still sorting through some things. So, we'll know a little bit more about that tomorrow."

Chargers down both starting cornerbacks Sunday

The Chargers announced that both starting cornerbacks Michael Davis (hamstring) and Asante Samuel Jr. (concussion) are out for Sunday's game. Reserve safety Alohi Gilman (ankle) is doubtful.

Los Angeles is also going to be without backup running back Justin Jackson (quadricep).

The Eagles are coming off a season-high 236 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground against the Lions. The Chargers rank last in the NFL in both rushing yards allowed per carry (5.12) and per game (159.6). One of the key storylines to follow is how will the Eagles attack the Chargers' defense with both starting cornerbacks shelved.

Starting wide receiver Jalen Reagor was one of four players who did not participate in Wednesday's practice. Reagor suffered an ankle injury after catching a short pass near the goal line early in last Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions. Here is the full injury report for the Eagles:

S Anthony Harris (Hands, Groin) – Great news for the defense as Harris missed the last two games. Marcus Epps has played well in Harris' absence.

"Playing at a high level. I've said all of our safeties from the start, it's a good job for the people that (Executive Vice President/General Manager) Howie (Roseman) has in here. What I look for in the safety position, he has everything that I look for," Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Gannon said. "I mean from a mental standpoint, from a physical-trait standpoint, the toughness that he brings to the defense, the athleticism, the ball skills, the tackling, the run-the-show, you know – as much as Avonte (Maddox), as we put on Avonte, we put on those safeties too, with the style we play."
