Zach Ertz recounts thrilling World Cup experience on the season premiere of Feeding the Birds

"It was something that helped me grow as a person, not being so comfortable all the time."

That's how Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz described his three-week trip to France where he witnessed the U.S. Women's Soccer Team's triumphant run in the World Cup that captivated the country.

Following the Eagles' mandatory minicamp in June, Ertz traveled to support his wife, U.S. midfielder Julie Ertz, who scored a goal in the Group Stage win over Chile and was masterful defensively in the final against the Netherlands.

Back in Philadelphia with Training Camp less than two weeks away, Ertz sat down with Chef Tim Lopez, host of the **Feeding the Birds** podcast, to discuss the challenges of trying to eat healthy in an unfamiliar country, his favorite restaurants in Philadelphia, and the wake-up call in college that turned his career around.

This episode kicks off Season 3 of Feeding the Birds, a show about football through the foods that we all love featuring interviews with players, coaches, chefs, and celebrities about the food culture of the team and the Eagles community. The premiere also includes Lopez's conversations with celebrity chefs Cat Cora and Jose Garces.

Upcoming guests later in the season include Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, Kevin Sbraga, Andrew Zimmern, and many others. Previous episodes provide a peek behind the curtain of the Eagles organization as Lopez introduces fans to the culinary staff who prepares the team's meals every day while the coaches and players share the impact food has had on their lives.
