For the second time this season, the Eagles will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – and this game means much more.

The Eagles will travel to the NFC South Champions on Monday, January 15 at 8 PM in the NFC Wild Card Round. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN/ABC.

This will be the second time in Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni's three-year career that his team will face the Bucs in the playoffs. Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts made their playoff debuts in a 2021 NFC Wild Card Round loss in Tampa. This is the sixth time that the two organizations will square off in the playoffs.

In the Week 3 meeting between the two teams earlier this season, it was the Eagles who left Tampa Bay with a 25-11 win.

The Eagles' offense totaled 472 yards, led by D'Andre Swift's 130 rushing yards and A.J. Brown's 131 receiving yards. Olamide Zaccheaus scored his first touchdown as an Eagle, while Jalen Hurts notched a rushing score.

The Eagles' defense came to play as well. They held the Bucs to just 41 rushing yards and 133 passing yards. An interception by Reed Blankenship, a forced fumble by Jalen Carter, and a safety by Nicholas Morrow helped halt the streaking Bucs, who started the season 2-0.

After hitting a rough patch in the middle of the season, the Bucs finished the year winning five of their last six games. With a 9-0 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 18, the Bucs clinched their third consecutive division title.

Offensively, the Bucs are spearheaded by quarterback Baker Mayfield and two of the league's best receivers.

Mayfield's resurgence in 2023 has put the quarterback back on the map after he went 2-8 in his starts with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams last year. The 28-year-old had 4,044 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in the regular season.

Wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been beneficiaries of their quarterback's impressive season. Evans has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his 10 NFL seasons. The 30-year-old was ninth in the league with 1,255 receiving yards and first in the league with 13 receiving touchdowns. Godwin finished the season with 1,024 yards and two touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, the Bucs are led by safety Antoine Winfield Jr, who had six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and three interceptions during the regular season.

Monday's game will be the perfect opportunity for the Eagles to end their late-season skid and start the playoffs on a high note.
