After a walk-through on Friday, the Eagles returned to the field fully on Saturday for Military Appreciation Day. Here is what stood out on Day 3:

Injury Report
Jalen Carter (shoulder) remained sidelined, but guard Kenyon Green (knee) returned to action. Every other active Eagle was on the field.
Highlights
- Jihaad Campbell got his first set of first-team reps this Training Camp. The rookie linebacker has been recovering from shoulder surgery this offseason but has been on the field every day for camp.
- Quinyon Mitchell had tight coverage on a deep ball to DeVonta Smith, who nearly hauled it in with one hand. Mitchell is following up his stellar rookie season with a very strong camp so far, facing two of the best receivers in the league.
- Dallas Goedert had a strong contested catch from Jalen Hurts. Goedert spoke on Thursday about how he stayed in touch with Hurts throughout the offseason, and their chemistry on the field is apparent.
- Moro Ojomo had a would-be-sack of Hurts and later batted a ball at the line of scrimmage. Ojomo made strides towards the end of last season and could be in for a bigger role with the departure of Milton Williams.
- Hurts and Smith connected for a touchdown on back-to-back plays. On the first, Cooper DeJean had tight coverage, but Smith hauled in the pass anyway.
- One of the biggest highlights of the day was a perfectly placed over-the-shoulder pass from Hurts to A.J. Brown about 30 yards downfield. That play certainly drew the biggest crowd reaction of the day.
- Jordan Davis had a strong rush up the middle. Davis said he slimmed down 26 pounds this offseason, and you can clearly tell when he's on the field.
- Rookie Ty Robinson also made some noise on the defensive line, disrupting two plays towards the end of practice.
- Maybe the most impressive play came at the end of practice, when Kyle McCord found Elijah Cooks about 20 yards downfield near the sideline. Cooks pinned the perfectly placed pass on his shoulder pad, and his teammates came rushing down the sideline to celebrate. – Matt Ryan
Position Preview: Inside Linebacker
One year ago, you would consider the Eagles' inside linebacker position to be in flux. There was Nakobe Dean, unproven early in his career. Devin White was signed in free agency after a long stint in Tampa Bay. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. was a rookie. Zack Baun was, well, what was he? Who was he?
OK, so now we are in 2025 and the picture has much more clarity. Still some questions, indeed, but far more understanding. Baun, a special teams player and edge rusher in his four seasons with the Saints, became an off-ball linebacker here and was a finalist for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, an All-Pro and Pro Bowl performer in 2024. Trotter earned valuable reps in his rookie season and is in line to gain even more time in his second year. White is gone, while Dean, after a superb regular season in 2024, is working hard to rehabilitate a torn patellar injury suffered in the playoffs against Green Bay.
Through the early days of Training Camp, the Eagles have largely gone with Baun and Trotter inside with the first-team defense, but there are always rotations. First-round draft pick Jihaad Campbell has been on the field and is seeing his reps increase. Players like Dallas Gant, on the practice squad in the 2024 season, is working in as well and getting to the football. Draft pick Smael Mondon is gaining more and more confidence and earning the trust of the coaching staff. Lance Dixon signed with the Eagles after the 2025 NFL Draft and is going to get a lot of looks throughout the summer.
Dean is on the Physically Unable to Perform list and there is no timetable for his return. The Eagles have depth here, and they have some options and, for sure, they have a whole lot more of an understanding about what they have at inside linebacker than they had 12 months ago. – Dave Spadaro
Johnny Wilson Hosts Wounded Warriors
Second-year wide receiver Johnny Wilson hosted a group of Wounded Warriors at Saturday's practice for Military Appreciation Day.
Johnny's grandfather Richard, who served for 18 years and was in the Vietnam and Korean Wars, was among those in attendance.
"I'm proud of the Eagles," Richard Wilson said. "I'm proud of Johnny wanting to step out and do this for the Wounded Warriors because he knew what I was involved in in Vietnam and Korea and all that. It really means a lot to me. It really does."
The Wilson family has deep ties to the military as Richard's three brothers served along with his grandson, two nephews, and his cousin. Richard was in the Air Force for more than 12 years before serving in the Army Reserves and Navy.
For Johnny, it was important to support the Wounded Warriors knowing what his grandfather and other family members had gone through.
"A lot of people in my family have served. So, my grandpa was very passionate and very honored to have served," Johnny said. "And he talks about his stories all the time when he was in the military. And honestly, my team, they brought up a proposal to show my support for the veterans, and I'm like, 'Why not?' Of course I would.
"To have my grandfather out here, too, is even better. He gets to see me practice, and he gets to be out here with other vets and military guys, share his experiences."
After practice, every Eagle gave their military jersey to a veteran in attendance and spent time signing autographs.
Johnny, of course, gave his jersey to Richard.
