Eagles sign DB Jaylen Mahoney, RB Jordan Mims

The team adds two players with NFL experience ahead of the final preseason game.

Roster Moves

The Eagles announced that they have filled the two open roster spots created earlier Monday when the team released safety J.T. Gray and waived running back Ja'Quinden Jackson with an injury designation.

Here are the two new Eagles signed to the roster Monday evening:

Signed DB Jaylen Mahoney

The 25-year-old defensive back was undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2023. He was called up from the 49ers' practice squad to appear in three games in 2024 and spent last season on San Francisco's practice squad as well as the Jets' practice squad.

At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Mahoney was a team captain at Vanderbilt. In his final season on campus, Mahoney started all 11 games played and led the team with six pass breakups to go along with 59 tackles, good for second on the team. He finished his college career tied for fourth in school history with 17 career pass breakups.

Signed RB Jordan Mims

Mims is a 6-foot, 205-pound back out of Fresno State. Since 2023, he has played in 14 games for the Saints and the Titans. In 2024, Mims played in a career-high 11 games, rushing for 70 yards on 20 carries.

A first-team All-Mountain West selection in 2022, Mims concluded his college career as one of the most decorated rushers in Bulldogs history, with 3,290 rushing yards (fourth in school history), 37 rushing touchdowns (tied for third), 4,592 all-purpose yards (fifth), and 45 total touchdowns (second).
