Eagles announce initial 53-man roster

After one of the most unusual offseasons in NFL history, the Eagles got to the 53-man roster limit by Saturday's 4 PM deadline. Below is a position-by-position look at the initial roster. Players are listed in alphabetical order.


QB (3): Jalen Hurts, Nate Sudfeld, Carson Wentz

RB (3): Corey Clement, Miles Sanders, Boston Scott

WR (7): J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, John Hightower, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Jalen Reagor, Greg Ward, Quez Watkins

TE (2): Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert

OL (8): Jack Driscoll, Nate Herbig, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata, Jason Peters, Matt Pryor, Isaac Seumalo

Offense Total: 23 players

Defense and Special Teams

DE (6): Genard Avery, Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Casey Toohill

Note that this roster will change over the next 24-48 hours. It is far from final. Players who are waived on Saturday can be claimed on Sunday. Teams can also establish their 16-player practice squads (17 for the Eagles) on Sunday, starting at 1 PM. Vaughn Johnson offered an explanation of the new roster rules for 2020.
