The Eagles added two players to the practice squad Tuesday, bringing their practice squad total to seven with one spot left vacant. The new face among the two added Tuesday is safety Keelan Johnson, an undrafted rookie out of Arizona State who spent the offseason with the Miami Dolphins. At 5-foot-11, 209 pounds, the 23-year-old Johnson becomes the second safety on the practice squad, joining Trenton Robinson. There are also five safeties on the active roster.
Johnson started 18 games during his career at Arizona State and finished second on the team with 88 tackles as a senior while leading the squad with five interceptions. He was named a first-team All-Pac 12 member as a result.
The second player to join the practice squad is a familiar face - Isaac Remington. Signed by the Eagles following April's NFL Draft after a productive career for Chip Kelly as a defensive lineman at Oregon, Remington transitioned to the offensive line during the latter part of Training Camp for the Eagles. His flexibility to play both sides of the line of scrimmage should help the team in practice.
Johnson and Remington join the five players already on the practice squad: Robinson, wide receiver Greg Salas, tackle Michael Bamiro, running back Matthew Tucker and linebacker Travis Long.
