From the looks of things, dynamite running back Darren Sproles is eyeing a return in 2018.

"For me to get back on the field again, it's going to be a challenge. It's going to be a lot of pain that goes in it, but I'm going to keep fighting until I reach my goal," Sproles said in a trailer for the newest episode of The Game Plan produced by Lincoln Financial Group that's set to debut Sunday on VirtualLinc.com.

"I don't have to play next year, but I'm leaning towards coming back. I can't end like this."

The 13-year veteran had his season was cut short after suffering a torn ACL and a broken forearm in Week 3 against the Giants. Sproles had previously indicated that 2017 would be his final season in the NFL. In 2016, Sproles remained a consistent threat running and catching the ball as he finished second on the team in rushing yards and third in receiving yards to go along with four touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving).

If Sproles returns, he has the opportunity to climb an elite list as he ranks eighth all time in NFL history in all-purpose yards (19,144) trailing five Hall of Famers. He is, however, set to become an unrestricted free agent.
