Toyota Player Of The Week: At Redskins

The new year will be celebrated with a little more jubilation in the Philadelphia area, as the Eagles – with help from the Chicago Bears – are headed to the postseason.

Before the Eagles could sit and hope for a Bears victory over the Minnesota Vikings, they had to take care of their business in the form of the rival Washington Redskins.

The Eagles did just that, winning 24-0.

Although the Redskins were undermanned, it was still arguably the Eagles' most balanced performance of the season.

That balanced performance was highlighted by a number of individual performances. Here are the three that stood out above the rest. Here are your nominees for Toyota Player of the Week:

QB Nick Foles

Another week, another record.

That is the way it has been for Foles the last couple of weeks. A week after breaking the franchise record for passing yards in a single game with 471, Foles tied the NFL record for consecutive completions in a single game with 25.

Before Foles left the game with a chest injury, Foles completed 28 of 33 passes for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns and an interception.

WR Nelson Agholor

Agholor has been on fire the last couple of weeks after a relatively quiet season. He scored two more touchdowns against Washington, giving him three in the last two games.

In total, Agholor caught five passes for 40 yards. He set a new career high for receptions in a season with 64.

CB Rasul Douglas

The second-year cornerback out of West Virginia set the tone early with an interception on the game's first play from scrimmage.

When the game was over, Douglas tallied six tackles, four solo, and one for a loss.

Honorable Mention: DT Fletcher Cox

Cox may not be an official candidate for Toyota Player of the Week, but we couldn't leave him out completely, as he produced his most dominant outing of the season with three sacks.

Cox, along with the rest of the front seven, stifled the Redskins' rushing attack to the tune of a meager 21 yards.
