Saturday's News And Notes

Today's Attendance: 13,689

Play of the Day

Kicker David Akers wowed the crowd at Lehigh today when he nailed a 60-yard field goal to close out the morning practice.

Special Teams Coordinator Ted Daisher on having Akers go for a 60-yard field goal in practice: "He had a slight, slight breeze with him, but he hammered the ball pretty good. And again, it's all relative to the wind conditions, but Dave has a strong leg and we have a lot of confidence in him."

Red Zone Target

TE Brent Celek had his number called early and often in this morning's practice during red zone drills. Celek was the favorite target of QB Donovan McNabb as he pulled down a number of touchdown catches in the back corner of the endzone.

Celek knows a thing or two about cashing in when the opportunity is right.

Celek had dinner with Jim Cramer, host of "Mad Money" on CNBC and long-time Eagles fan, during the off-season. The two met to discuss finance and football.

"We went a barbeque place in New York called Blue Smoke," Celek said. "We talked about finance and the market, then we talked about football. It was fun, he invited me back up there to sit in and watch the show."

For the first time ever, one lucky Eagles fan will have the opportunity to be an Eagles sideline reporter on gameday! Eagles Television Network (ETN) is running a contest called, ""Time's Yours"" throughout the pre-season with the winner earning a spot as a part of ETN's on-air gameday crew. The winner will be awarded a spot as a reporter in the September 3rd game vs. the New York Jets reporting the 3rd and 4th quarter of the game from the sidelines.
