Kobe Among Celebrity Eagles Fans

The Eagles are no strangers to celebrity fans. Last season alone, the Eagles welcomed Bradley Cooper to the NovaCare Complex and hosted Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara, comedian Carrot Top and All-Star outfielder and Rookie of the Year Mike Trout to games at Lincoln Financial Field.

But one of the team's biggest supporters is also one of the most recognizable figures in the country – Philadelphia native and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.

Bryant is the son of former 76ers forward Joe "Jellybean" Bryant and a former Lower Merion High School basketball star. Kobe has sported his Eagles jerseys in public, and during the 2012 NFL playoffs he let his 1.2 million Twitter followers know that he still bleeds green.

He has friends on various NFL teams, and has talked shop with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, but Bryant's allegiance to his Philadelphia Eagles remains strong. Even after the team's 4-12 finish in 2012, Bryant is still confident that better days are ahead. Of course, that starts with new head coach Chip Kelly.

"I'm an Eagles fan, for better or for worse," he told ESPN Boston on Thursday. "I've got my fingers crossed that this Chip Kelly dude will work out."

No doubt the entirety of Eagles nation feels the same way.
