With the score tied 7-7 in the second quarter, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left the field to go to the locker room with an eye injury. He was also to be evaluated for a concussion.
Vick led the team down the field for a touchdown on the opening drive and was 6-of-9 for 70 yards and a quarterback rating of 127.1.
In Vick's place, rookie third-round pick Nick Foles entered the game at quarterback. The Eagles went three-and-out in Foles' first drive after his first regular season pass as an Eagles on 3rd-and-5 went off Jason Avant's helmet after the receiver slipped coming out of his break. Foles threw a swing pass to LeSean McCoy for a five-yard gain on the play prior, but the ball traveled backwards, making it a run.
UPDATE: Vick is out for the remainder of the game with a concussion. Foles is the lone remaining quarterback on the 46-man active roster.
Avant is also doubtful to return with a hamstring injury suffered on Foles' first official pass as an Eagle.
3RD QUARTER UPDATE: Foles' first career touchdown pass came on the team's first drive of the second half. On first-and-20 (following a holding penalty) from the Cowboys' 44-yard-line, Foles was given protection by the offensive line, rolle right and hoisted the ball down field for a wide open Jeremy Maclin in the end zone for a 44-yard touchdown strike to give the Eagles a 14-10 lead.
