The Eagles finish the preseason with a 19-17 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. The Jets scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but a two-point conversion stop and late hold from the defense helped the Eagles secure the win.

Here's how it happened:

First Quarter

  • FIELD GOAL! The Eagles take an early lead with a 51-yard field goal from Jake Elliott. The drive was highlighted by a 19-yard completion from Kyle McCord to Kylen Granson on 3rd-and-8. (Eagles 3 - Jets 0)
  • INTERCEPTION! Parry Nickerson jumps a Brady Cook pass for the pick. The interception sets the Eagles up in New York territory.

Second Quarter

  • FIELD GOAL! Jake Elliott drills a 53-yard field goal to build the Eagles lead. The Philadelphia drive was set up by a Parry Nickerson interception. (Eagles 6 - Jets 0)
  • The Jets cut the Eagles lead to three with a field goal right before halftime. (Eagles 6 - Jets 3)

Third Quarter

  • TOUCHDOWN! Montrell Johnson runs it 15 yards on 3rd-and-12 for the score. After a missed field goal from the Jets, the Eagles went 55 yards on nine plays for the touchdown. (Eagles 13 - Jets 3)
  • STRIP SACK! Antwaun Powell-Ryland comes up with the strip sack of Jets quarterback Adrian Martinez. Powell-Ryland drew a hold on the pervious play, setting up a strong two-play sequence for the rookie.
  • FIELD GOAL! A 23-yard field goal from Jake Elliott extends the Eagles lead. The drive was set up by Antwuan Powell-Ryland's strip sack in New York territory. (Eagles 16 - Jets 3)

  • INTERCEPTION! Lewis Cine comes up with a diving pick, setting up an Eagles drive in Jets territory.

Fourth Quarter

  • FIELD GOAL! Jake Elliott nails a 45-yard field goal to build the Eagles lead. He has now hit four field goals, including two from 50+. (Eagles 19 - Jets 3)
  • The Jets cut into the Eagles lead with a 19-yard rushing touchdown from Donovan Edwards. (Eagles 19 - Jets 11)
  • TWO-POINT CONVERSION STOP! After the Jets scored to make a two point game, Dallas Gant stood up New York running back Donovan Edwards right before the goal-line to stop the two-point try. (Eagles 19 - Jets 17)

Standouts

K Jake Elliott

They don't call him "Jake the Make" for nothing. Elliott drilled kicks of 51 and 53 yards in the first half to give the Eagles a 6-3 lead at the break. Elliott added 45- and 23-yarders in the second half to extend Philadelphia's lead.

CB Parry Nickerson

Nickerson had the Eagles' first turnover, jumping a pass for an interception in New York territory and securing the pick on his way to the ground. Nickerson also had a tackle near the line of scrimmage and tight coverage on a third down.

S Lewis Cine

Cine had a beautiful diving interception at the end of the third quarter for Philadelphia's third forced turnover. The pick set up Jake Elliott's fourth field goal of the game.

Up Next

The Eagles will cut down their roster to 53 players by 4:00 PM on Tuesday. From there, it's a little more than a week away from the NFL season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 4.
