Eagles vs. Buccaneers injury report

There are two injuries to watch for the Eagles ahead of Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Guard Nate Herbig (ankle) and defensive end Josh Sweat (illness) are both questionable. Neither player practiced on Friday. Herbig was a limited participant on Thursday. Head Coach Nick Sirianni said that Sweat was in the NovaCare Complex on Friday and that it was an abdominal issue.

Tackle Lane Johnson (rest/knee) and linebacker Patrick Johnson (back) were limited on Friday, but are good to go for Sunday just like everyone else on the roster.

Who will Tampa Bay activate off Injured Reserve?

The Buccaneers ruled out wide receiver Cyril Grayson (hamstring) and running back Ronald Jones (ankle) for Sunday's game. Grayson stepped up and had 162 yards and a touchdown in Weeks 16-17. The Bucs don't have leading receiver Chris Godwin (Injured Reserve) or Antonio Brown (released), so Grayson's absence is much bigger than it would have been a month ago.

There are three players who are questionable for the Bucs. Cornerback Carlton Davis was added to the injury report on Friday with a back injury. Fellow cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting is questionable with a hamstring injury. He was limited all week in practice. Both Davis and Murphy-Bunting were on Injured Reserve for the Week 6 matchup between these two teams. Wide receiver Justin Watson (quadriceps) is also questionable, but he was a full participant in Friday's practice.

The Bucs have several key players eligible to come off the Injured Reserve list – running back Giovani Bernard, linebacker Lavonte David, and running back Leonard Fournette.

Both teams have until 4 PM on Saturday to make roster moves for this game, so stay tuned!

The Eagles held their first full practice of the week on Thursday and the only player who did not participate in practice was defensive end Josh Sweat, who was sidelined due to an illness.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni will meet the media on Friday to provide an update. Here's a breakdown of the other players on the injury report.

Limited Participation

• LB Shaun Bradley (Stinger)

• T Andre Dillard (Knee)

• G Nate Herbig (Ankle)

• T Lane Johnson (Rest/Knee)

• RB Miles Sanders (Hand)

Full Participation

• DT Fletcher Cox (Rest)

• OL Landon Dickerson (Thumb)

• QB Jalen Hurts (Ankle)

• C Jason Kelce (Rest)

• DB Kary Vincent Jr. (Foot)

• WR Greg Ward (Back)

QB Tom Brady misses practice for the Buccaneers

Yes, it's true, but the future Hall of Famer was simply given a veterans' rest day along with defensive lineman Steve McLendon.

Two other offensive players missed practice – wide receiver Cyril Grayson (hamstring) and running back Ronald Jones (ankle).

Wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) was upgraded on Thursday from a limited participant (note that the Bucs held a walkthrough on Wednesday like the Eagles) to a full participant.

The Eagles returned to the practice fields at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday in advance of Sunday's Wild Card showdown with the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni held a walkthrough on Wednesday, much like he has over the latter half of the regular season. Here are the highlights from what the injury report would have been if there was a full practice.

Did Not Participate

• DT Fletcher Cox, T Lane Johnson, and C Jason Kelce were listed as resting players (Johnson also has a knee injury), which is consistent with how Sirianni has managed the veterans throughout the year.

• DE Josh Sweat did not practice due to an illness.

Limited Participation

• The big note here is that RB Miles Sanders practiced for the first time since suffered a hand injury in the Week 16 win over the Giants.

Full Participation

• QB Jalen Hurts (ankle) had been limited in practice in recent weeks. RB Jordan Howard had a stinger late in the regular season, but he was not even listed on the injury report.

A look at the opponent's injury report

The Buccaneers, like the Eagles, held a walkthrough on Wednesday. Here are the key injuries to watch:

Edge rushers Shaq Barrett (knee) and Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) were limited in practice after each player missed the final two regular-season games.

Wide receiver Cyril Grayson (hamstring) did not participate in practice as Head Coach Bruce Arians expressed doubt regarding his availability for Sunday. Wide receiver Mike Evans was limited in practice with a hamstring injury.

Running back Ronald Jones did not participate in practice with an ankle injury. Cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting were both limited with hamstring injuries.

Here's a look at the Buccaneers on the Injured Reserve list:

• RB Giovani Bernard

• LB Lavonte David

• RB Leonard Fournette

• WR Chris Godwin

• G Sadarius Hutcherson

• DL Patrick O'Connor

• CB Richard Sherman

Bernard, David, and Fournette were designated to return to practice on Wednesday, opening the door for a chance to play this Sunday.
