The Eagles on Thursday announced that they signed wide receiver John Hightower to a Reserve/Future contract.

A fifth-round pick of the Eagles in 2020 out of Boise State, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Hightower has 10 catches for 167 yards in his NFL career.

As a rookie, Hightower played in 13 games (4 starts) and was on the field for 31 percent of the offensive snaps. A big-play threat with the ability to separate down the field, Hightower recorded catches of 50-plus yards in back-to-back games, becoming the first Eagles rookie to accomplish the feat since 1944. The last Eagles rookie to have two 50-plus-yard catches in an entire season was Jeremy Maclin in 2009.

Hightower spent all of 2021 on the practice squad and was called up for the November 7 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
