The Eagles signed cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields to the practice squad and released cornerback Eli Ricks.
Castro-Fields was on Philadelphia's practice squad for part of 2024 and signed a futures contract with the team this offseason. He was waived on roster cutdown day with an injury designation.
Castro-Fields has played in 12 games during his NFL career, including making a start with the Commanders in 2023. Castro-Fields appeared in 53 games across five seasons for Penn State before getting drafted in the sixth round by the 49ers in 2022. He had 25 passes defended, three interceptions, and 10 tackles for loss in his college career.
Ricks has spent multiple stints on the Eagles practice squad this season after spending the last two years on the 53-man roster. Ricks was an undrafted free agent out of Alabama in 2023. — Written by Matt Ryan
