Jalen Hurts Daily Updates

Wednesday, December 10

7:18 PM: Jalen Hurts is coming off his first career four-interception game after throwing just two picks over the previous 12 games. After Monday's 22-19 overtime loss to the Chargers, Hurts took accountability.

Now, he has an opportunity to help the Eagles snap their three-game losing streak against the Raiders on Sunday.

"Success or greatness, those things aren't linear. You have your ups, you have your downs, but it's about how you respond to it," he said on Wednesday. "And I think about that. It's nothing new that I haven't faced before. It's a matter of responding to it. And I got a lot of confidence how we will respond, I got a lot of confidence how it will go."

The Eagles got back to work on Wednesday with a walkthrough before their Thursday and Friday practices. The confidence in the locker room hasn't wavered. The Eagles know what's in front of them.

"When you put forth the work, you put forth the effort, good things happen when you need them to happen," Hurts said. "That's my mentality. That's how I've gotten to where I am today. That's how I've been able to overcome some of the high mountains that have been in the way. And I don't look at this time or this opportunity in front of us as anything different. You're always going to be tested. You're always going to have something that you have to overcome. And this is something that, as a team, we've got in front of us that we have to attack with full force." — Matt Ryan

10:41 AM: This is the message for the week, says left tackle Jordan Mailata, simple and to the point: "Just keep it moving. Can't feel sorry for ourselves, but we can pick ourselves up. We put ourselves here, so that's the message: Pick ourselves up. There is no time to feel sorry for yourself. Just gotta keep going."

The Eagles' offense did a lot of good things on Monday night, including springing running back Saquon Barkley to 122 yards and a touchdown. Mailata thinks that can be a springboard to the running game with some tweaks here and there that the Eagles implemented on Monday.

"We had some run concepts out of those new formations and some of the sprinkles that we did to keep the defense guessing and I think that surprise element helped us a lot in the run game," Mailata said. "I think this week, just try to complement off the new stuff that we added, adding in some new runs and keep the defense guessing this week."

Las Vegas features defensive end Maxx Crosby – who has nine quarterback sacks this season – and Mailata has the highest level of respect for him.

"He is relentless, a hard worker, extremely talented guy," Mailata said. "He's not going to stop. Never. Not on any play. We know we are in for a battle against their front, just like every week." - Dave Spadaro

2:55 PM: The go-to player in the Las Vegas offense is tight end Brock Bowers, a second-year player who is one of the very best at his position in the NFL. After catching 112 passes for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns last season, Bowers has battled injuries in 2025, but he is still a huge weapon.

Bowers has 53 receptions (on 73 targets) for 619 yards and six touchdowns in 10 games (six starts). At 6-4, 235 pounds, he's a big target with a large catch radius and he is a weapon after the catch.

The Eagles are well aware of Bowers and what he means to the Las Vegas offense.

"He's like a receiver in a tight end's body," linebacker Zack Baun said. "He can run every route, after the catch he's dynamic, he catches everything thrown his way and he is a top-of-the-line tight end, for sure.

"If you have a good tight end like that, you're going to use him in a lot of ways. They are going to highlight him on third down and in the red zone and we know that."

Las Vegas has a question mark at quarterback – starter Geno Smith is banged up and was unable to practice on Wednesday, with former Eagle Kenny Pickett taking the first-team reps – but Baun understands there is more to prepare for than who plays quarterback. Las Vegas averages 15 points per game this season and has struggled, but the Raiders bring some twists to the mix for Sunday.

"They will give us a lot of eye candy – a lot of pre-snap motion, things like that – and they will get the ball out quick, run a lot of screens, a lot of bootlegs," Baun said. "We have to be prepared for everything."

What is the mindset in the locker room? Baun is a veteran of the game. He knows how it works in the NFL.

"Keep the positivity. We're shooting ourselves in the foot a lot of times and a lot of those mistakes can be corrected," Baun said. "We know what we have in this locker room and we have to put it all together. That's our objective." — Dave Spadaro
