Spadaro: The joy has returned for Hollywood Brown

Entering his eighth NFL season, Brown has played for different teams and in different schemes. Fully healthy, he senses that Philly can bring the best out of him.

Hollywood Brown feels it.

He is running free and has his explosiveness. The burst he displays on the football field is special, and that's part of the joy Brown has in this 2026 Eagles Training Camp.

"I'm faster than I've ever been. I feel like I'm playing that way, for sure," he said. "It's an awesome feeling. I had a Lis Franc injury in my rookie year and that is the kind of injury that is a career-ender, they say. It's cleaned out, I took some time to rest in this offseason and I'm seeing the benefits of that.

"I'm playing more freely. I'm having fun. Enjoying what we're doing out here."

Brown, signed in the offseason during the free agency process, is part of a diverse and talented receiving room. It is early, far too early for a hot take, so we will leave that for a larger sample size, but Brown is moving around at receiver in the Eagles' offense. We're still in a bit of a discovery period and that's the way it is in every NFL Training Camp.

What matters for Brown, a first-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2019, is here after playing with Baltimore, Arizona, and Kansas City. His role is to be defined. Brown has been around long enough to know that the best approach is to stay grounded, to stay focused, and to understand that the best way to move in this league is to put one foot in front of the other.

Always moving forward.

"We have a great group and I feel this offense is right for me," he said. "I feel like I can showcase my skill set with this group. You look at this offense and what do you see? So many playmakers. So much talent. The scheme is versatile. Just do my job. That is the focus here, working with the other receivers and helping this offense go."

Look at photos from the third practice of Eagles Training Camp, featuring honored members of the U.S. military and their families on Saturday, August 1st, 2026.

Brown has a rare bust of speed and explosiveness and he has been in concert with the quarterbacks early in this Training Camp. He is Number 0, an agent of speed and vertical danger the Eagles can use in a number of ways.

"I don't know what my role is going to be," he said. "I'm just working. Showing up every day. I don't get caught up in targets and catches and things like that. I have my assignments and my job is to fulfill those assignments and be where I need to be when I need to be there."

What is undeniable is that Brown can motor. He wins with a special get-off and that is the secret sauce he brings to the wide receiver room. Brown is part of the reason Offensive Coordinator Sean Mannion likes what he has seen so far from the group as a whole.

"We have a very exciting group there. I think it's because there are so many complementary skill sets," Mannion said. "We look for a ton of flexibility in terms of everybody (being able to) line up anywhere and we can move people around, and it opens up a lot of exciting possibilities. That's part of what makes this group really fun to work with. You have a lot of guys who can play off of one another in different ways. It opens up a lot of possibilities for our offense just because that whole group, everyone's bringing something to the table."

Brown's contribution? Speed, speed, and more speed. He wants to show he can do it all and that he can be a vital part of the plan in 2026.

"I'm working on every part of my game," he said. "I can win in a lot of ways, I think. That's what I'm here to show every day. So far, I'm really having fun, enjoying every day."

You see it. He feels it. For Hollywood Brown, it is a great way to start his Philadelphia Eagles career.
