Eagles promote CB Ryan Lewis from the practice squad

The Eagles promoted cornerback Ryan Lewis from the practice squad to the active roster and waived/injured tight end Alex Ellis on Friday afternoon. Ellis did not participate in practice this week due to a knee injury.

Lewis signed with the practice squad on October 1 to counteract all the injuries at cornerback. He has seen action in 10 games in his NFL career. In the beginning of this season, he played three games for the Indianapolis Colts, where he recorded three tackles. In 2018, Lewis was on the Buffalo Bills where he totaled 15 tackles and three passes defensed.

The 6-foot, 195-pound cornerback attended the University of Pittsburgh. During his senior season, he started 12 games and was the team's second-leading tackler with 79 stops.
