The Eagles announced on Wednesday that the team has signed running back Jaydon Blue from the practice squad to the active roster. In a corresponding move, the Eagles have placed running back Dameon Pierce on Injured Reserve. The team has also signed guard Evan Beerntsen, wide receiver Quentin Skinner, and defensive back Shaun Wade to the practice squad.
Eagles sign RB Jaydon Blue
This will be Blue's second stint on the active roster this season. The running back signed with the Eagles' practice squad before the start of the season and was signed to the active roster ahead of the Week 6 game against the Panthers. However, he was released from the active roster the following week and rejoined the practice squad. With Pierce being placed on Injured Reserve, Blue returns to the 53-man roster.
Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Texas, Blue appeared in five games for Dallas in his rookie season, recording 129 rushing yards on 34 attempts and a touchdown. The former Longhorn was waived by the Cowboys as part of the final roster cuts.
Blue ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine following a senior collegiate season which saw the 5-foot-9 running back rush for 730 yards, 8 touchdowns, and average 5.4 yards per carry. In addition, Blue caught six touchdowns through the air in his final season at Texas.
Eagles place RB Dameon Pierce on Injured Reserve
Pierce originally joined the Eagles in free agency this offseason and was signed to the practice squad following Training Camp and preseason. He is the fourth Eagles running back to be placed on Injured Reserve this season (Carson Steele was waived/injured and reverted to Injured Reserve).
When Tank Bigsby was placed on Injured Reserve after sustaining an injury against the Rams in Week 4, the Eagles signed Pierce from the practice squad. With Saquon Barkley also out with injury and Will Shipley being placed on Injured Reserve a week later, Pierce stepped into a major role in the offense – replacing Shipley against the Jaguars when the third-year running back exited the game early with a foot injury. Pierce then started against the Carolina Panthers and was the primary ballcarrier against Dallas on Monday. Through the three games, Pierce recorded 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 37 carries.
The former Florida Gator had a productive season as a rookie in 2022, recording 939 yards and four touchdowns through 13 games. The 5-foot-10, 215-pound Pierce ran for 416 yards in 2023 and 293 yards in 2024, setting a career high with 176 rushing yards in Week 18 of 2024. Pierce saw limited action in 2025, playing 28 snaps on offense between his time with the Texans and Chiefs.
Eagles sign G Evan Beerntsen to the practice squad
A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Beerntsen spent the first six years of his seven-year college football career at South Dakota State. He started on the offensive line during the Jackrabbits' back-to-back FCS National Championship game appearances in 2022 and 2023. Berntsen transferred to Northwestern in 2025 after the NCAA granted him a seventh year of eligibility. In his first and final season of playing FBS football, the 6-foot-4 guard protected quarterback Preston Stone by allowing zero sacks or quarterback hits, and helped the Wildcats win the GameAbove Sports Bowl.
Beerntsen was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft. He was waived following the preseason and signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad two weeks later. After being released by the Seahawks on October 21st, the 26-year-old rookie now joins Philadelphia's practice squad.
Eagles sign WR Quentin Skinner to the practice squad
After going undrafted in 2025 out of Kansas, Skinner signed with the New York Jets. He was signed to the active roster late in the year after spending most of his rookie season on the practice squad. He made one catch for 10 yards in Week 18 against the Bills, as well as a diving catch for a two-point conversion from Brady Cook in that same game.
The 6-foot-4 receiver totaled 1,584 yards and 11 touchdowns on 80 receptions through four seasons at Kansas (five including a redshirt year). Skinner played a major role in the Jayhawks' offense in 2023, helping the team win the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against UNLV – the university's first bowl game win in over 10 years.
Eagles sign CB Shaun Wade to the practice squad
After two weeks away, Wade returns to the Eagles' practice squad. Selected by the Baltimore Ravens out of Ohio State in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Wade was traded to the New England Patriots later that offseason. The former Buckeye spent three seasons with the Patriots, playing in 20 games and recording 26 tackles.
Wade signed with the Eagles in June and spent Training Camp and the preseason in Philadelphia. He led the entire NFL during the preseason with three forced fumbles, to go along with 18 tackles and three passes defensed. Wade was waived during the Eagles' final roster cuts, but re-signed to the practice squad later in September. He was released from the practice squad on October 13th.
