6:31 PM: Before Sunday's loss to the Broncos, Jalen Hurts had won 18 consecutive games he started and finished for the Eagles. It was his first loss in over a year, and he's glad the Eagles only need to wait until Thursday to play again.
"Thank God it's a short week," he said. "Tough week in my house."
Hurts has proven throughout his career that winning is the only thing that matters to him. On his Hail Mary attempt Sunday, Hurts sprinted to the end zone just in case the ball was tipped in the air and he could make a play.
"You never know," he said. "I hate to lose."
Hurts' winning streak came to an end on Sunday, but his only focus is getting back in the win column against the Giants, and he doesn't care how he does it.
"I'm not thinking about [stats] during the game. I'm not thinking of how many times I've thrown the ball, how many times I've ran the ball, if I've had zero completions in a half or number of yards we've thrown for in a half," Hurts said. "You don't catch a feel for those things. ... It's a matter of having a very, very fine focus on each play and trying to execute that." – Written by Matt Ryan
3:51 PM: Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is set to make his third NFL start against the Eagles on Thursday night. The No. 26 pick in the draft, Dart led the Giants to a win in his debut before losing to the previously winless Saints and committing three turnovers.
Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio said he's been impressed with Dart in his limited action.
"I like him. Another mobile quarterback," Fangio said. "I think he's got that air about him to be a quarterback. I think he's confident in his abilities and in their offense. Got the gun run game to contend with. They'll run quarterback draws, quarterback designed runs. He's good. I think they got themselves a quarterback." — Matt Ryan
