Eagles activate TE Zach Ertz, WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside; place T Lane Johnson on Injured Reserve

The Eagles announced three roster moves on Wednesday:

• Eagles activate TE Zach Ertz off Injured Reserve

The Pro Bowl tight end returned to practice last week. He suffered an ankle injury against Baltimore on October 18 and missed the past five games. The team's leading receiver in each of the past four seasons, Ertz has 24 receptions for 178 yards, and a touchdown this season.

The Eagles will be three-deep at tight end with the return of Ertz. Dallas Goedert has been strong in the past two games, leading the team with 12 receptions for 152 yards, and two touchdowns. Richard Rodgers, who returns to Green Bay where he started his career, has been a surprise for the Eagles with 24 catches, 345 yards, and two touchdowns, including a 33-yarder off a Hail Mary on Monday night.

Ertz was a vital component of last season's win in Green Bay, where he caught seven passes for 65 yards. Goedert added a touchdown as well.

• Eagles activate WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside off the Reserve/COVID-19 list

The second-year wide receiver was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on November 19 and missed the past two games. He was inactive for the game prior to landing on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Arcega-Whiteside has two catches for 45 yards in 100 offensive snaps in 2020. He scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery against the Ravens.

• Eagles place T Lane Johnson on Injured Reserve

The All-Pro tackle revealed last week that his season was over due to a lingering ankle injury. He said that he will undergo surgery later this month and begin attacking rehab.
