Andrews' Back Surgery A Success

Pro Bowl lineman Shawn Andrews underwent successful surgery Thursday on his ailing back. This is the second surgical procedure he has had in that area.

The team issued a statement late Thursday from the office of Dr. Robert G. Watkins III: "Shawn Andrews underwent a two-level microscopic lumbar discectomy today at Marina Del Rey Hospital. Dr. Watkins stated that the surgery went well. The prognosis is very good that he will return to play after an appropriate rehabilitation program."

There was no immediate word as to when that rehabilitation will begin or where it will take place. Head coach Andy Reid figures to address it Friday in his final media briefing before Sunday's game.
