After a hard-fought victory in Week 1, the Eagles come into their second game with a slew of injuries.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday after suffering a foot injury against the Patriots. He will miss at least the next four games. Nicholas Morrow was signed to the active roster to fill Dean's spot.

The Eagles' secondary will be missing two key players on Thursday night. Cornerback James Bradberry spent the week in concussion protocol after taking a knock to the head late in the game. Safety Reed Blankenship has dealt with a rib injury all week after leading the team in tackles against the Patriots. Both players did not practice this week and will be out for the matchup with Minnesota.

Running back Kenneth Gainwell has also been dealing with a rib injury. He did not practice during the short week and will not play.

The coaching staff is confident about the depth at running back, safety, and cornerback.

At running back, Rashaad Penny, Boston Scott, and D'Andre Swift will be available. Swift and Scott saw minimal action in the season opener while Penny was inactive.

"Whatever role they have for me is the role that I am going to be good at," Swift said. "I will focus on it and give it my all."

At safety, veteran Terrell Edmunds and rookie Sydney Brown will be ready to go. Edmunds has started 75 of the 80 NFL games he has played in, and Brown made his debut in Week 1, showing off his physicality with a few hard hits on special teams. Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai will decide who starts next to Justin Evans in Blankenship's absence.

Second-year undrafted free agent Josh Jobe is expected to start in place of Bradberry. He played late in the game against the Patriots when Bradberry exited. Jobe's heads-up play to push Kayshon Boutte out of bounds on fourth down with less than 30 seconds to go sealed the victory for the Eagles.

Jobe played eight defensive snaps with one pass deflection and 21 special teams snaps, registering a tackle and a forced fumble.

"I'm extremely confident and comfortable with all the guys that we have prepared out there, and Josh being one of them," Desai said.

Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was a limited participant in practice this week – the team held walkthroughs Monday through Wednesday – and is listed as questionable.

On the other sideline, the Vikings will be without starting center Garrett Bradbury, who suffered a back injury early into the Vikings' Week 1 meeting with the Buccaneers. Austin Schlottmann will fill his spot.

Tackle Christian Darrisaw and linebacker Marcus Davenport were both limited in practice with ankle injuries. They are listed as questionable for Thursday night's game. – Written by Owen Boyle
