King: Eagles Want To Move Up For DE

Peter King of *Sports Illustrated *wrote on April 16 about the Eagles' apparent burning desire to move up in the first round of tonight's draft.

At the time, King believed that the Eagles were moving up to target a safety. In his pre-draft "10 Things" column posted a short while ago, King reports that he's "hearing the object of the Eagles' trade-up affections is South Florida DE Jason Pierre-Paul."

Interestingly enough, King adds that the Eagles think Pierre-Paul's skill-set is similar to that of Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

But for the Eagles to get Pierre-Paul they might have to move up to No. 8 since apparently, according to King, Oakland wants him as well. King wrote that Jacksonville, Denver and Miami (Nos. 10, 11 and 12 respectively) are willing to move out. King concludes that if Pierre-Paul goes to Oakland at No. 8, the Eagles could still attempt to move up into the pre-teen area for Georgia Tech defensive end Derrick Morgan.
