Eagles vs. Bills inactives: CB Ronald Darby to start in return to Buffalo

Ronald Darby will start at cornerback opposite Jalen Mills on Sunday as he returns to Buffalo for the first time since being traded to the Eagles in 2017.

Darby has not played since Week 3 against Detroit due to a hamstring injury. He was active for last Sunday's game in Dallas, but did not play, as he was only available in an emergency.

Darby and Mills will start together in a game for the first time since the October 28, 2018 win over Jacksonville in London.

The Eagles ruled six players out on Friday for today's game against the Bills. Here is a look at the seven inactive players.

LB Nigel Bradham: Like Darby, Bradham started his career in Buffalo. Bradham will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury. The Eagles' starting linebackers in the base 4-3 package will be T.J. Edwards, Nathan Gerry, and Kamu Grugier-Hill.

G Nate Herbig: The rookie free agent has been inactive for each game this season. Matt Pryor and Halapoulivaati Vaitai are the backup offensive linemen. Left guard Isaac Seumalo is the backup center.

WR DeSean Jackson: Getting closer to a return, but remains out with the abdominal injury that's sidelined him since leaving the Week 2 game early in Atlanta. Mack Hollins will start opposite Alshon Jeffery.

DT Tim Jernigan: Out with a foot injury suffered in Week 2. The Eagles are without Jernigan, Malik Jackson, and Hassan Ridgeway, who were three of the top four defensive tackles to open the season. This week, the Eagles signed Anthony Rush and Albert Higgins off of Oakland's and Houston's practice squads, respectively, and promoted Bruce Hector from the practice squad to the active roster. Rush will start alongside Fletcher Cox in his NFL debut today.

CB Avonte Maddox: The best news on Friday was that Maddox was a limited participant in practice for the first time since suffering a concussion and a neck injury in the Week 4 win in Green Bay. Maddox has not yet fully cleared concussions protocol, but his return is coming.

T Jason Peters: Another former Bill who won't suit up for the return engagement. Peters will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury. Andre Dillard will start at left tackle.

RB Darren Sproles: Sidelined for a third straight game with a quadriceps injury incurred in the win over the New York Jets. Boston Scott is the third running back and primary punt returner.

The Bills had five players listed as questionable, including starting linebacker Matt Milano (hamstring) and wide receiver Duke Williams (shoulder). Both Milano and Williams are active. Safety and former Eagle Kurt Coleman (hamstring) and linebacker Corey Thompson (ankle) were questionable heading into the game and are inactive.
