The third-year quarterback joins Philadelphia from the Cowboys' practice squad.

The Eagles announced on Friday that the team has signed quarterback Joe Milton from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad.

A sixth-round pick by the Patriots in 2024, Milton was heralded for his arm strength and athleticism as a prospect out of Tennessee. The 6-foot-5 quarterback started his college career at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee in 2021.

He helped guide the Volunteers to the Orange Bowl after stepping in for an injured Hendon Hooker in 2022, defeating No. 7 Clemson and earning the game's MVP honors. Through six college seasons, Milton played in 43 games (21 starts), threw for 4,303 yards, 20 touchdowns, five interceptions, and recorded 11 rushing touchdowns.

Milton made his NFL regular-season debut in Week 18 of his rookie season, leading the Patriots to a 23-16 win over the Bills with 257 yards and two touchdowns. The Dallas Cowboys traded for Milton that offseason to serve as Dak Prescott's backup for 2025. The dual-threat quarterback was waived on August 31, 2026, as part of the Cowboys' final roster cuts and was signed to the team's practice squad. - Written by Caroline Connor
