Eagles Take 24-10 Lead Into Final Quarter

Barner, Burton Lead Charge In Third Quarter

Running back Kenjon Barner set the offense up in solid field position to start the second half after picking up 32 yards on the kickoff. Sam Bradford completed two straight passes to ignite the Eagles' drive on a 14 yard gain to tight end Trey Burton and a short pick up on a dime to running back Wendell Smallwood. Two plays later, Barner broke free on the left side for a 25 yard run before being shoved out of bounds at the Colts' 7. The Eagles ended the nine-play drive with Bradford finding a wide open Burton for a 3-yard touchdown putting the Eagles up 24-3.

Defense Gets A Break

A holding call on the Colts' wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, withheld an 81-yard touchdown run from running back Robert Turbin. With 7:27 remaining in the third, the defense relinquished a first down after an offside penalty was given to cornerback Ron Brooks. Colts backup quarterback Scott Tolzien connected on a short throw Dorsett to 39 yards putting the Colts on the Eagles' 18.

Carroll End Zone Interception

With 3:58 to go, Nolan Carroll hauled in his second pick of the preseason and kept the Eagles' preseason interception streak alive as he picked off Tolzien's pass intended for Moncrief in the end zone.

Colts Score on Blocked Punt

Linebacker Josh McNary blocked Eagles Donnie Jones' punt resulting in a scramble and eventual recovered touchdown by Colts running back Jordan Todman, the team's first touchdown of the night. Adam Vinatieri connected on the extra point making the score 24-10.

Injured Eagles

Wendell Smallwood dashed up the middle for a first-down with but would head to the locker room with 13:37 remaining after taking a hard hit. Defensive end Vinny Curry also left the game with a knee injury.

Eagles take on the Colts in Indianapolis during Week 3 of the preseason.
