Howie Roseman is busy making moves as Training Camp begins. Wide receiver Deon Cain is back with the Eagles after spending time on the practice squad last season. Cain signed with the practice squad on August 30, 2022, and was released on October 31, 2022. During three preseason games with the Eagles last season, Cain recorded eight catches for 106 receiving yards.

To make room for Cain on the roster, the Eagles released tight end Dalton Keene. The Eagles also placed wide receiver Devon Allen on the Active/Non-Football Injury List. Allen can be activated off the list at any time. He still counts toward the 90-man roster limit.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Cain is entering his fourth season in the NFL. He was drafted by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2018 draft, and split time with Indianapolis and Pittsburgh during his rookie season. Cain spent most of the 2022 season on the Steelers' practice squad. He has nine receptions and 124 receiving yards in 15 career games. Before arriving in the NFL, Cain played collegiately at Clemson where he finished his career tied for the fourth-most receptions in program history.

After departing the Eagles last Halloween, Cain joined the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League. In eight regular-season games with Birmingham, he tallied 182 yards and two touchdowns. Cain won the 2023 USFL Championship Game MVP Award after catching three touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Maulers. – Owen Boyle
