The Eagles made a flurry of roster moves, placing cornerback Jakorian Bennett, wide receiver Darius Cooper, and outside linebacker Nolan Smith on Injured Reserve. They signed safety Marcus Epps, tight end Cameron Latu, and cornerback Parry Nickerson to the 53-man active roster.
Philadelphia also added linebacker Lance Dixon, defensive back Eli Ricks, and wide receiver Quez Watkins to the practice squad.
Starting on the edge, Smith has eight pressures this season, according to Pro Football Focus. The 2023 first-round pick broke out last year with 6.5 sacks in the regular season and a franchise record four in the playoffs.
The Eagles acquired Bennett during Training Camp in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he has played 24 defensive snaps this season, including 12 in Week 3. Cooper, who made the Eagles' roster as an undrafted free agent, left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury.
Epps, Latu, and Nickerson have all spent the season on the Eagles' practice squad. Epps, who was released by the Patriots on roster cutdown day, was elevated for the first three games and needed to be on the 53-man roster to suit up again for the Eagles.
Latu made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Chiefs and was elevated last week as well. With Ben VanSumeren on Injured Reserve, Latu has filled in as the team's fullback.
Nickerson has played in 30 career NFL games for five different teams. His most recent regular-season action came in 2023 with the Dolphins, where he was coached by Vic Fangio.
The Eagles are bringing back Dixon, Ricks, and Watkins, all whom have spent time in Philadelphia. Dixon, who went undrafted out of Toledo, was waived by the Eagles on roster cutdown day. Ricks was on the Eagles' 53-man roster for the past two seasons and has had multiple stints on Philadelphia's practice squad this year.
Watkins was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round in 2020. He played four seasons in Philadelphia, including posting a career-high 647 receiving yards in 2021. — Written by Matt Ryan
