Bring on the Chiefs!

Eagles vs. Chiefs
Eagles vs. Chiefs

The Eagles are one win from their second Super Bowl Championship in franchise history.

And there are several connections to the one team standing in their way.

After taking care of business earlier in the afternoon, by way of a 31-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles will face Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday, February 12th at 6:30 PM.

It is the first time that both No. 1 seeds reached the Super Bowl since the Eagles won it all in Super Bowl LII against the Patriots. The Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20, in the AFC Championship on a 45-yard Harrison Butker field goal with 3 seconds left.

Reid, of course, is the winningest coach in Eagles history, taking the team to five NFC Championship Game appearances as well as a trip to Super Bowl XXXIX in the 2004 season. Since leaving Philadelphia, Reid has taken the Chiefs to either the AFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl in five consecutive seasons, winning it all in the 2019 season.

The Chiefs are led on offense by All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is Jalen Hurts' top competition for this year's MVP Award. A five-time Pro Bowl and former MVP, Mahomes led the league with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns.

One of Mahomes' top weapons is All-Pro center Jason Kelce's brother, Travis. This will be the first time that two brothers will go against each other in the Super Bowl. Travis Kelce made the Pro Bowl for the eighth straight season after catching 110 passes for 1,338 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Eagles and the Chiefs last played early in the 2021 season, with Reid's Chiefs coming away with the win in a 42-30 shootout.
