Andrews Getting More And More Comfortable With Knee

Stacy Andrews battled through an arduous rehab to be ready for the start of the 2009 season. He also did that while adjusting to a new team, a new offensive scheme and a position that he hasn't played in two years.

While Andrews was expected to be the starter at right guard, head coach Andy Reid said his knee was getting ""fatigued."" Andrews tore the ACL in his knee at the end of the 2008 season and underwent surgery in January. For now, Andrews said that he's splitting reps with starter Max Jean-Gilles in practice. It remains to be seen if Andrews will take over the starting job anytime soon. He did get on the field for a number of snaps in the Week 3 win vs. Kansas City, a week after getting none against the Saints.

"Whatever helps the team win, I'll do it," Andrews said. "Whatever role they have me do, I'm going to do it."

Andrews' main concern is being able to play without thinking about the knee.

"My confidence level is coming up where I feel myself coming out of the brace," Andrews said. "I'll probably keep it on for a little longer."

Andrews said that he used the bye week to rest the knee, but worked on his technique. The Eagles will certainly welcome Andrews' 6-7, 342-pound massive presence on the inside to help bolster the league's 12th-best rushing attack.

"It's getting back in the groove of things," Andrews said. "I haven't played guard in two years so I'm still learning."
