Tweetcap: How Long Will The Starters Play?

It will be a year ago on Saturday when Chip Kelly coaches his first preseason game with the Philadelphia Eagles. On Friday, Kelly will commence his season preseason with the Eagles as the team hits the road to take on the Bears in Chicago. Kelly detailed some of the plans for Friday night's game and we roundup his thoughts in our Tweetcap ...

Chip Kelly: We'll try to get starters about 10-15 snaps in Friday night. Depends on flow of game ... Cooper won't play, Maclin not sure yet — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Nolan Carroll has a muscle thing, not sure hamstring or groin, probably won't play Friday. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Alex Henery will get early reps at K, we'll try to get Spear a kick, depends on the game. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Maclin is obviously extremely talented ... Explosive, gets off the LOS, speed to separate, strength at line, catches really well. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Carroll did well as KOR, nothing solidified yet, but has outstanding speed and can really hit the hole hard. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: I don't think there's anything to hide about how we'll use Darren Sproles ... Everyone's seen him in the league. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: We judge QBs on a daily basis ... practice, preseason games, meetings all part of the puzzle ... There is difference with contact. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: I hope to see the same out if everybody, that they rise to the occasion and rip it up ... Chance to see live action and who shows up. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Allen and Hart both have physical skills to succeed and have both played 2-gap, so a little less of an adjustment. — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Advantage of 2-gap, if it's done correctly, can stop the run with one fewer guy in the box (5 v. 6). — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014

Kelly: Foles taking fewer sacks is something we talked about in the offseason, need fewer negative plays ... Can better judge in game action — Eagles Insider (@EaglesInsider) August 6, 2014
