Statistical Nuggets: Eagles-Redskins Preview

Here are some statistical nuggets to get you warmed up for Sunday's game ...

1. The Eagles set a team-record of 592 total yards in last meeting which the Eagles won 59-28 on November 15, 2010.

2. In that last meeting, quarterback Michael Vick became the first player in NFL history with 300 pass yards (333), 50 rush yards (80), four pass touchdowns and two rush touchdowns in the same game. He completed 20-of-28 passes (71.4 percent) for 333 yards with four touchdowns and a 150.7 QB rating.

3. Last week, Vick (4,948) passed former Eagle Randall Cunningham (4,928) for most rushing yards by a quarterback all-time. Also, no NFL player has had 315 passing yards and 75 rushing yards in the same game except for Vick who has now accomplished that feat in back-to-back weeks.

4. Running back LeSean McCoy has 779 scrimmage yards (129.8 per game; 559 rushing, 220 receiving) in the past six division games. McCoy is second in the NFL with seven touchdowns (5 rushing, 2 recieving) and he leads the NFL with 28 rushing first downs and 36 total first downs. McCoy became the first player in Eagles history to record a touchdown in each of the first five games of the season.

5. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson has five touchdowns (3 receiving, 1 rushing, 1 punt return) vs. Washington. He averages 63 yards per touchdown. For his career, Jackson has 28 touchdowns (21 recieving, four punt return, three rushing) in career and averages 45.2 yards per touchdown (1,265 yards). Jackson is the first player in NFL history to record 3,500 receiving yards and 1,000 punt return yards in the first four seasons of a career.

6. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has 31 catches (7.8 per game) in past four games. Against the Redskins last November, Maclin had a 48-yard touchdown. For the season, Maclin is second in the NFL with 32 receptions.

7. Wide receiver Jason Avant had a career-high 9 catches for 139 yards last week against Buffalo.

8. Cornerback Asante Samuel has an NFL-best 37 interceptions since 2006.

9. Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins is tied for the league lead among all defensive tackles with 5.0 sacks. Jenkins has notched a sack in two of three games against the Redskins.

10. The Eagles are third in total offense averaging 445.6 yards per game. They are first in rushing offense with 165.6 yards per game. The Eagles are tied for third in big plays (20 yards or more) this season with 28.
