The Eagles announced on Thursday that the team has signed RB Jaydon Blue, G Evan Neal, and LB Anfernee Orji to the practice squad. Tight end E.J. Jenkins was waived from the active roster.
Eagles sign RB Jaydon Blue to the practice squad
Blue (No. 30) returns to the Eagles practice squad after being released from the active roster earlier this week. The running back signed with the Eagles' practice squad before the start of the season and was signed to the active roster ahead of Week 6.
Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Texas, Blue appeared in five games for Dallas in his rookie season, recording 129 rushing yards on 34 attempts and a touchdown. The former Longhorn was waived by the Cowboys as part of the final roster cuts.
Blue ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine following a senior collegiate season which saw the 5-foot-9 running back rush for 730 yards, 8 touchdowns, and average 5.4 yards per carry. In addition, Blue caught six touchdowns through the air in his final season at Texas.
Eagles sign G Evan Neal to practice squad
Selected seventh overall by the Giants in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former College Football Playoffs National Champion was released as part of New York's final roster cuts this season. Neal then signed with the Raiders' practice squad before being released earlier this week.
The fifth-year offensive lineman started his career in the NFL as a tackle and converted to the guard position during the 2025 offseason. During his three years at the University of Alabama (2019-21), Neal earned Consensus All-American honors as well as first-team All-SEC.
Eagles sign LB Anfernee Orji to practice squad
Orji initially signed with the Eagles' practice squad earlier this month but was released five days later. The fourth-year linebacker started his NFL career by signing with the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2023. The former Commodore recorded 248 tackles and three sacks though four collegiate seasons.
Known for his athletic ability in the pre-draft process, Orji ran a 4.52 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine at 230 pounds. The linebacker spent his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad in 2023, then made the team's active roster in 2024, playing in 16 games and recording 30 tackles.
Orji signed with the Titans in 2025 before being waived three months later with an injury designation after tearing his ACL during a 2025 joint practice. The 6-foot-1 linebacker was also with the New York Giants during the 2026 Training Camp.
Eagles waive TE E.J. Jenkins
During his college career, Jenkins played for St. Francis (PA), South Carolina, and Georgia Tech. After originally being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Jets in 2023, Jenkins found his way to both the Eagles' practice squad and active roster.
In the Eagles' 2024 Super Bowl campaign, the 6-foot-7 target played in eight regular-season and four postseason contests. Jenkins was primarily utilized on the Eagles' practice squad in 2025, but made the team's active roster during final roster cuts this preseason. The tight end appeared in all six games for the Eagles so far this season. - Written by Caroline Connor
