No Change In Vick's Status For 2010

The Philadelphia Daily News reported on Monday that quarterback Michael Vick has been cleared by the NFL to play this season. While this seems like headline-worthy news, it's not really a news story at all. Vick's playing status was never in doubt and he technically never had to be cleared to play in 2010.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the newspaper that "there is no change in (Vick's) playing status." Vick in among the players scheduled to report today to Lehigh University for the start of training camp. Rookies and selected veterans, along with the quarterbacks, are due in by 5 PM. Players have started to arrive and we will have complete coverage on Training Camp Live! with Dave Spadaro beginning at 4 PM. Head coach Andy Reid will address the media and update the status of the contract talks for first-round pick Brandon Graham and second-round pick Nate Allen and more.
