The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced 128 modern-era players nominated for the 2026 class. This is the first round of the process, as the list will be reduced to 50 in mid-October.
Here's a look at the eight nominees who spent notable parts of their careers with the Eagles:
K David Akers
One of the best kickers in NFL history, Akers made five Pro Bowls with the Eagles and leads the franchise in points (1,323) and field goals made (294). Akers ranked second in the league in points and field goals made during his time in Philadelphia. His recognition as one of the league's best kickers earned him a spot on the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team.
QB Randall Cunningham
One of the most electric quarterbacks of his era, Cunningham played 11 seasons with the Eagles, making three Pro Bowls. Cunningham spent a good portion as the NFL's all-time rushing leader for a quarterback with 4,928 yards. He finished his Eagles career 20 games above .500 as a starter.
P Sean Landeta
Landeta amassed more than 60,000 punting yards during his 21-year NFL career, five of which he spent with the Eagles. Landeta was named the punter on the Eagles' 75th Anniversary Team in 2007.
RB LeSean McCoy
McCoy is a nominee in his first year of eligibility after rushing for more than 11,000 yards in his NFL career. His best season came in 2013, when McCoy led the NFL with 1,607 rushing yards (a franchise record at the time) and earned first-team All-Pro honors. McCoy made three Pro Bowls in his six seasons in Philadelphia.
QB Donovan McNabb
McNabb's No. 5 jersey is retired in Philadelphia as he's the franchise's all-time leader in completions (2,801), passing yards (32,873), and touchdowns (216). The second overall pick in 1999, McNabb helped lead the Eagles to four consecutive NFC Championship Games, five total, and a Super Bowl appearance.
CB Asante Samuel
Smauel was a lockdown cornerback during his time in Philadelphia, earning three Pro Bowl nods in four seasons with the Birds. Samuel started 133 games over 11 NFL seasons, twice leading the league in interceptions and passes defended.
CB Troy Vincent
Vincent made five Pro Bowls with the Eagles as one of the best cornerbacks in franchise history. In eight seasons in Philadelphia, Vincent had 28 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries. Vincent led the league with seven interceptions in 1999 and 27 passes defended in 2001.
RB Ricky Watters
Watters was a Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalist in 2025. He started his career by making five consecutive Pro Bowls, his first three coming with the 49ers before joining the Eagles. Watters has 10,643 career rushing yards and led the league in yards from scrimmage (1,855) in 1996 with the Eagles.
