Game Vs. Giants: QB Michael Vick

On the play in which he hurt his hand: "It was on the pass to (WR) Jeremy (Maclin). (It was) Just an unfortunate situation, after such a great play, and I felt like I got hit late. There was no flag. Broke my hand."

On whether his hand was on his helmet when he got hit: "It really doesn't matter where it was at. I was trying to protect myself. Still didn't get a flag and that's pretty much been the story for the last three weeks. I mean obviously at some point something catastrophic is going to happen and I broke my hand. Not to blame the refs or say that it was their fault. Its' just one of those unfortunate situations and I just think more precautions should be taken when I'm inside the pocket. I mean if you look at all the replays, I'm on the ground every time and it's unfortunate for myself and it's unfortunate for my team and I'll be lying if I said I wasn't, if I were to sit here and say I wasn't frustrated right now because of that."

On whether he feels he's not getting the calls other quarterbacks do: "Absolutely."

On why he feels he doesn't get the calls: "Why? I mean, you all see it. There's no reason for me to go into a big dissertation about why I'm not getting the calls. The refs, they have to do their job as well. I even mentioned it in training camp to the refs when we had our little meeting, so just for precaution. But hey, I don't know."

On whether he'll be able to play next week: "I don't know. I don't know if I'm going to be able to play next week. I don't know anything right now except my hand is broken and we have to figure out what is the next move."

On whether it's disappointing the way the last few games have played out: "It's tough, you know. Everything is not going to be fine and dandy and we understand that. This is the National Football League. Just because we're in this situation right now, things could change drastically over the next couple of weeks and I think they will. I believe it. And just a couple of bad breaks and things are not going our way right now. But it's up to us to get it turned around and I think it will happen."

On whether teams are purposely coming after him more: "No I don't think so. I think they had their fair share of blitzes, but the blitz numbers were down today, so I didn't get any blitzes today. I mean you watched the game, so you probably know just as well as I do and you still asked the question, but to answer it for you: We didn't get any blitzes today. I don't think teams play this game to try to hurt other guys. I just don't think that's the story. I think it's all about stopping your opposition. Not to hurt them. We don't play this game to hurt one another. We play this game to have fun and to win."

On whether his head affected him during the game: "Not at all. My head was fine. I took some shots early and they didn't affect me and I just tried to keep going and (I was) seeing things clearly, felt good in the pocket, obviously wish we would have done better in the red zone, but that's all I have to say now."

On whether he feels that there's a different injury every week: "It's a rough game. Last week was just a situation where I just got ran into my own teammate. This week it's a situation where I take a hit late and break my hand. It's unfortunate. You can't predict what's going to go on. You don't know. Things happen and you just have to deal with them and that's life."

On whether he felt that there were other late hits on him: "Everybody saw the game. I was on the ground constantly. All of the time. Every time I throw the ball in all my highlights and just watching film in general, every time I throw the ball I'm on the ground, getting hit in the head and I don't know why. I don't get the 15-yard flags like everybody else does but hey- I'm not going to complain about it. I'm just making everybody aware and hopefully somebody will take notice."

On whether he said anything to the referee: "I didn't say anything to the referees. The refs have to do their job and I'm not blaming the referees by any stretch so let's not get it twisted here. I'm just saying I think everybody on the field should do their job."

On whether opposing teams are aware that Vick is not drawing flags and reacting to that: "I don't think opposing teams are trying to pull up. I think they're going all out to try to get to the quarterback so they're playing. If they're not being made conscious of the situation or what is happening or the ref is not giving them a warning then they are not going to stop. Like I said, I'm not sitting here trying to blame the refs for what happened. I just want them to take notes. That's it."

On whether the play where he dropped the ball was a designed run call on third down: "No."

On whether it is possible for him to stay healthy if he cannot get calls in his favor: "I don't know but I am conscious of my safety and I want to play this game and protect myself at all times, even though sometimes I can't. I trust in my offensive linemen and I want to stay healthy for my team. I guess I've got to do more. It's something I'm not doing right, maybe. I've just got to keep pressing."

On what happened at the end of the half when he was late off the field: "We just had a lot of communication break down, things that shouldn't happen and that hurts. Even though we were able to get the field goal, it's nothing like getting six points. There are just things we have to work on and things that just can't happen and we have to get better at that. That really could have changed the game significantly. We didn't do it and it all starts with me as the quarterback and on down to everybody else so maybe I've got to be better in that situation. I think I have to. Communication is big in this game."

On whether he has ever played with a broken right hand: "I've never broken my hand before so no."

On what is to determine how long he may be out: "I think you'll have to ask the doctor that question. I don't know."

On whether he felt that he could have continued to play with the broken hand: "I was trying but the next series was a long series and it was starting to swell up more and more and I couldn't bend my hand. I had no range of motion so it just got worse. I think while the adrenaline was flowing, I was able to keep it going but it's tough when you've got to take the snap from the center."
